EeStairs + Moatti - Rivière

This grand staircase forms a dramatic interior focal point inside the Paris headquarters of the iconic French fashion brand, L’Oréal Group. The stairs rise inside an atrium in an extraordinary glazed ‘bubble’ in a courtyard. Diamonds of glass cover the bubble’s five-storey steel diagrid structure, creating a jewel-like extension to the 19th century building. EeStairs collaborated with the architect and contractor to refine the original design of the glass balustrades, steel handrails, and steel finishes to make them buildable and more cost-efficient.

The stairs rise in a curve to the mezzanine level and then continue in another curve to reach the second floor. EeStairs also provided the curved balcony balustrades on the other floors of the atrium. We were selected for this project because we are able to make and install every element of our stairs without any outsourcing – ensuring that we had total quality control.

Our work usually involves creating complete, fully detailed staircases. At L’Oréal, our craftsmen and installers were fitting new elements to an existing staircase, presenting an extra challenge. The curved glass balustrades were installed in a mild steel U-profile, manufactured by EeStairs to have a perfect continuous groove and fixing element for the glass panels. This engineered, manufactured, and installed feature U-steel profile along the concrete stairs and floors was executed with absolute accuracy – the glass could not be adjusted in any way. And as you can see, the precision of their geometric lines is beyond question.
